■ This software helps users in the project planning process by providing a user with the capacity to answer some basic questions about the way in which one will be using a company’s financial resources over a specified period (typically 3, 5, 10, or more years).
■ The user can then have a first cut at the way he/she thinks the company is likely to operate over that time period and so can prepare appropriate plans for starting and running the business.
■ The tool works in conjunction with Exl-Plan Lite which has a simpler interface and is mainly aimed at the small and medium-sized company.
■ Exl-Plan Pro covers the next two years (2 and 3) with the third and final year on an annual basis.
■ Users can, if they wish, alter the assumptions (e.g. regarding the increase in demand for the company’s product) or extend the period to cover the full 10 years.
■ The Exl-Plan Pro product consists of the following:
■ One sub-license which includes a large number of features.
■ The worksheets of the basic Exl-Plan Lite package.
■ Worksheets for the third year and the fourth and fifth years of projections.
■ A user-friendly and comprehensive manual with numerous examples.

The company is the first to receive FDA approval for a test that uses patient blood samples to detect the presence of cancer. It says the test can detect the recurrence of certain types of cancer in patients long after the original tumor was removed, making it more effective than the currently available imaging or blood tests. It costs $299 per test, which Genome says is still much cheaper than the alternatives.
“It’s really easy to forget about the power of the patient’s own body to tell us whether or not there’s disease lurking in the body,” says Larry Merlo, the company’s president and CEO.
Merlo says the test, called OncoDx, is already being used in other cancer types, and in many cases, it can replace more expensive, uncomfortable and invasive procedures. That may be the case for Lynn T. Smith.
Smith had surgery in 2012 to remove a mass from her neck. Doctors said it was benign, and she was given the all-clear. But the tests detected high levels of the protein sialyl-Tn, which are found in more than 100 kinds of cancer.
A subsequent biopsy revealed the mass was actually a cancerous tumor, so Smith was diagnosed with stage four lymphoma. She had chemotherapy and radiation. In 2013, her cancer returned, and she underwent more surgery and then chemotherapy again.
Smith, a 57-year-old stay-at-home mom in Aurora, Colorado, says the tests are “a life-saver.”
“People take cancer very seriously, and they don’t want to hear that it’s lurking there, because when it’s within them, it’s already metastasized,” she says. ”
